Job Description Job Description Salary: $58,000 to $70,750 Annually DOE SENIOR GIS TECHNICIAN (Employee or Contractor) POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a highly skilled Senior GIS Technician to support complex utility and pipeline initiatives through advanced geospatial analysis, enterprise GIS administration, and application support. This role partners closely with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to design, implement, and optimize GIS workflows, data models, and mapping solutions that support critical electric and gas utility operations. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to improving geospatial systems and processes. This position offers flexibility to be filled as either an employee or contractor, based on experience and business needs. The role requires a willingness to relocate to the Dallas, TX area and is a hybrid position with the ability to work onsite at the office twice per week. ABOUT US we-do-IT Inc. COMPENSATION (Employee or Contractor) Salary Range: $28.00 to $34.00 per hour ($58,240 to $70,720 annually) Bonuses: Discretionary annual performance team leadership incentive COMPENSATION (Employee) Paid Time Off: 20 PTO days 11 paid Federal holidays Retirement: 401(k) company match to 4% Health: Premium medical, dental, vision Home Office: Equipment & supply reimbursement Professional Development: $2,500 annual training allowance industry conference attendance RESPONSIBILITIES Creates presentations and workflow diagrams for GIS processes and results. Supports and troubleshoot business users with GIS applications. Develops project plans in collaboration with other stakeholders. Effectively communicates related GIS initiatives to other stakeholders. Consults with end users to create documentation relating to the program definition, development, business requirements. Documentation includes software objectives, deliverables, and end user specifications. Analyzes test results, formulates modifications, and implements solutions to problem areas. Prepares and writes reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process. Trains end users to operate new or modified programs. Conducts research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts. Works with external vendors to ensure efficient implementation of software products or systems. Keeps abreast of new and emerging technological advances in program languages, utilities, tools, and client/server technology to ensure achievement of optimum results. Qualifications Required: Bachelors degree in GIS or a related field. Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience performing complex geospatial analysis and delivering mapping solutions. Experience within the Gas Utilities or Energy sector. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical or complex concepts to internal and external customers with varying levels of technical knowledge. Ability to perform algebraic, trigonometric, and geometric calculations, including analyses involving ratios, percentages, and moderately complex statistical or accounting methods. Advanced computer skills, including the ability to use and understand programming or scripting languages for writing, modifying, and executing programs. Hands-on experience with: GE Smallworld / Gas Distribution Office Esri Utility Network (UN) Esri Utility Pipeline Database Model (UPDM) Esri ArcGIS Pro Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal ArcGIS Online Esri Web AppBuilder Esri Field Operations and mobile applications SQL Server Preferred: Certified GISP. Experience with SAP. Experience with Construction Management Applications. Additional experience supporting large, complex utility or energy-sector GIS environments. Other Requirements: Must be willing to relocate to Dallas, TX. Position offers flexible work at home policy (ability to work onsite at office twice per week). Flexibility to work across U.S. time zones as needed. Must be able to work legally in the US without sponsorship. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test. Ability to pass a background check.
