Power & Digital (MPD) department designs FPGAs, circuit cards, and
electronics subassemblies for a range of products including
missiles/effectors, radars, and electronic warfare systems. The
team leverages digital, analog, and power design skills to provide
support throughout the product lifecycle from architecture and
design through production and sustainment. We have an exciting
opportunity for a Senior FPGA Design Engineer to join the FPGA
Architects team within the Electrical Engineering organization.
Electrical Engineering drives business success by providing a
variety of critical engineering tasks across multiple product lines
and functions. The Senior FPGA Design Engineer is part of a key
role within the engineering organization responsible for developing
electronics for defense system products. We engage at the outset of
the system development and follow our designs through deployment.
Our team helps develop the requirements and bring concepts to life.
Our products are deployed all over the world, on the ground, into
the atmosphere, and out into space. The FPGA Architects team is
responsible for the architecture, design, and documentation of
deliverable firmware and FPGA embedded processing. This position is
an onsite role, located in McKinney, TX. What You Will Do Develop
FPGA designs for all major vendors and device families including
Xilinx (AMD), Altera (Intel), and Microchip Implement designs using
VHDL for the following applications: gigabit serial interfaces,
Radio Frequency (RF) DSP, controls, data links, embedded
processing, and processor interfaces Work with circuit card
designers and systems engineers to develop requirements, architect
new designs, collaboratively model algorithms, partition and
perform code development, simulation, and implementation Verify
designs against requirements using both directed test and
constrained random test methodologies Provide design support from
requirements definition through integration and test, including
design documentation and configuration management Qualifications
You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology,
Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior
relevant experience. Experience designing FPGAs. Demonstrated
experience with digital design and VHDL or Verilog coding.
Experience with Xilinx (AMD), Altera (Intel), or Microchip FPGAs.
Experience with Xilinx (AMD), Altera (Intel), or Microchip devices
and instrument flows. Hands-on integration experience with
FPGA-based systems. Expertise in FPGA timing constraints and timing
closure. Qualifications We Prefer Prefer a degree in Electrical
Engineering or Computer Engineering or related STEM degree. Ability
to perform work without appreciable direction. Excellent written
and verbal communications. Knowledge of embedded systems design
utilizing Microblaze, Nios, or ARM processors. Demonstrated ability
to work effectively with team members from diverse communities and
cultures. Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who
represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles.
Familiarity with the Linux environment. Digital signal processing
on FPGAs. Knowledge of C programming and scripting languages such

remote. The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.
The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative
