Qualifications and Requirements
- At least 2 years of orthopedic experience is required.
- At least 1 years of surgical assist experience is
required.
- Must be comfortable with splinting, casting/bracing, removing
casts and performing joint injections.
- Must be comfortable with reviewing x-rays, diagnosing and
treating orthopedic injuries.
- The Physician Assistant must be licensed in the State of Texas
and maintain such license in good standing at all times.
- The PA will be responsible for meeting CME requirements to
maintain certification and licensure.
- Ability to commute between offices and hospitals
- Reliable transportation
About position:
- Position can be clinic based, or combination of clinic and
operating room
- See a wide variety of patients from pediatrics to adults,
emphasis on sports medicine, but see all areas of general
orthopedics.

- The PA's duties and responsibilities apply to the patient
population and assigned setting as instructed and guided by
practice guidelines.

Location:
- Frisco, TX but expectation is to cover Dallas and Wylie
locations occasionally. -
Job Duties:
- Contributes to physician's effectiveness by identifying
short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be
addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to
discussions; recommending options and courses of action;
implementing physician directives.
- Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing
physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical
histories.
- Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering
diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and
laboratory studies; interpreting test results.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and
department records.
- Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections,
suturing; managing wounds and infections, splinting, applying and
removing casts/braces.
- Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic
regimens, treatments, surgeries and provides patients with the
risks and benefits of these.
- Provides patients with informed consent when clinically
appropriate and following local, facility and state laws and
guidelines.
- Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing
patient management plans and communicates with supervising
physician regarding these seeking guidance when
appropriate.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying
with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to
infection-control policies and protocols.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional
requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating
future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising
management on needed actions.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending
educational workshops; reviewing professional publications;
establishing personal networks; and participating in professional
societies.
- Develops health care team staff by providing information,
educational opportunities, and experiential growth
opportunities.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as
needed.
- Assists clinics with pre-certifications and peer to peer
reviews for practice related needs IE surgery, MRI, testing,
Durable medical equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by the Medical Director or Supervising
Physician.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour

First Year Schedule:
- 8 hour shift M-F
- Monday to Friday 8:30am-5pm with some Saturday's 10am-2pm
Experience:
- Orthopedic: 2 year (Required)
- Surgical Assist: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Physician Assistant License (Required)
