Matters The Director of Special Projects will lead high-impact,
cross-functional initiatives that advance organizational goals and
strategic priorities. This role will plan, schedule, and manage
statewide training and technical assistance initiatives for early
learning professionals, including coordination of training
delivery, technology integration, compliance monitoring, budget
management, and stakeholder engagement. This role requires
exceptional project management skills, strategic thinking, and the
ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. This role
requires a high volume of travel throughout the State of Texas.
What You’ll Do Lead the statewide training and technical assistance
initiative, ensuring all deliverables meet timelines, compliance
standards, and budget requirements. Develop and manage
comprehensive project plans, reporting structures, and performance
metrics to track progress and outcomes. Coordinate with internal
teams, external partners, and state agencies to align goals,
streamline communication, and support successful execution. Oversee
scheduling, logistics, and technology integration for statewide
training, ensuring accessibility, quality, and consistency.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and scalability,
supporting leadership in planning future special projects. What You
Bring Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Public
Administration, or related field. 7 years of experience in project
management, grant administration, or large-scale program
implementation. Strong knowledge of training systems, CRM
platforms, data tools (e.g., Power BI), and compliance frameworks.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills,
with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
Experience designing and delivering training for adult learners,
with the ability to travel frequently across the State of Texas.
